Dermatology
Dermatology is a branch of medicine dealing with the health of your skin. They treat diseases and perform surgeries.
Training
After earning a medical degree dermatologists usually train for 4 years. First they are interns for a year then they go through a three year dermatology residency. They can then take one or two year post-residency fellowships in immunodermatology, phototherapy, laser medicine, Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic surgery or dermatopathology. According to the Dermatology Times, the best dermatology clinics include Harvard, Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai, NYU, UCSF, University of Michigan, UT Houston, and Wake Forest. These programs are similarly ranked in peer-reviewed publications.
